Checklist 1 — individual (e-CPF)
- One Brazilian photo ID within validity: Brazilian passport, RG or CNH. One is enough.
- CPF in regular status at the Federal Revenue (the lookup is public and takes a minute).
- The name on the ID identical to the name registered under the CPF — abbreviations and missing surnames are the number one cause of rescheduling.
- An e-mail you access easily and a phone or computer with a camera for the session.
Checklist 2 — company (e-CNPJ)
- Everything in checklist 1, for the person who will hold the certificate.
- CNPJ active at the Federal Revenue.
- Consolidated articles of association, latest amendment or election minutes showing the holder as director — the same person listed in the QSA.
- If the company has more than one director, a decision on which of them will attend validation.
Checklist 3 — foreigner with a CPF
- Regular CPF, issued in your name.
- Brazilian identity document for foreigners, such as the CRNM (formerly RNE), within validity, or, for non-residents, a valid passport from your own country — confirm with us which applies before booking.
- For e-CNPJ: the same requirement of being listed as director in the QSA.
Checklist 4 — changed name (marriage, divorce, rectification)
- Photo ID already in the current name (or in the former name, as long as the CPF is also in the former name — what matters is the match).
- CPF record updated before the session; the change is made with the Federal Revenue using the relevant certificate.
- If the new passport hasn't arrived yet, use a valid RG or CNH in the name shown on the CPF.
Checklist 5 — expired ID
- Expired passport + valid RG or CNH: the session goes ahead normally with the valid document.
- All expired: renew the passport at the consulate before booking; the RA cannot accept an out-of-date document.
- CNH expired recently: not acceptable for validation, even if it still allows driving during the grace period.
- RG with no printed expiry date: accepted, as long as the photo allows recognition and the document is intact.
Before you decide
“Do I need to post original documents?”
No. Clear photos on WhatsApp are enough for the pre-check; on the video call you show the physical document to the camera.
“What do you keep from my documents?”
Only what ICP-Brasil rules require for validation. We never ask for your certificate password, bank password or gov.br details.
“My CPF is pending. Can I issue now and fix it later?”
No. Regularisation comes first. Usually filing the missing return is enough; see the roadmap in Revenue issues.
“What does it cost if I have to reschedule?”
The pre-check exists precisely to avoid rescheduling. If something slips through, the new session is arranged without a new service charge.
